Artist’s Statement: Her Story

My paintings are extremely personal stories. The “HER” in my paintings was also born as an avatar standing in for me during the COVID period.

The motif of the “HER” series is to contain the artist’s own inner world and emotions while drawing inspiration from the stories of ordinary women around me. Not every day can be like a party, but in the women who put on glamorous makeup and prepare to go out, I sometimes bring out another self hidden within.

I hope that, in a break from the everyday, with a provocative, proud gaze, you will shake off the fear of challenging reality and find hope with overflowing confidence.
