Artist’s Note

At the end of infinity (無極), I exist.

So sometimes I am very lonely.

But I am infinitely happy.

To exist is the sacred blessing of God.

Within this blessing, before the law of the myriad things (森羅), I search for Eastern straight lines and curves and Western planes of form, and, passing through countless time and space, I show the result of my effort.

In particular, the great gratitude and blessings, encouragement and support I received over the past eight years while hosting “SBS (TJB) Daejeon Broadcasting Hwacheop Gihaeng” (the travel sketchbook program) have created my present works.

Moreover, the beautiful grandeur of performing with large orchestras on stages around the world has met my “perhemming action performance,” and masterpieces imbued with soul have been born many times. I am honored that my work was selected and sold in succession in 2019 and 2020 through the American global online company “eBay Auction,” and was thereby introduced widely to people around the world.

Building on these experiences, this exhibition takes as its motifs the eternity of natural materials and the mobility of form, and is conceived as a warm work that anyone can share, agonizing over the law of birth and extinction.

I believe that art that is not approached from the humanities is science, and since artistic inspiration and science conflict, I try to focus not on numbers or logic but on warm emotional energy centered on people, the other face of reason.

Always working in nature, I try to dance before the beauty of dots, lines and planes, which point out the direction I am moving.
